National school counseling week was celebrated this week. We at WIS would like to recognize the efforts of our two outstanding counselors, Mrs. Skaggs and Mrs. Johnson. It would be very difficult to outline the specific roles these ladies take on in the building as they are truly everywhere! For those of us that are a little "older", we probably think of school counselors sitting in their office and maybe visiting with a few students or small groups each day. This is not the case for the school counselors of today. Our counselors see every student in the building twice a month and are involved in most of our school organizations and after school clubs. Their work touches the lives of so many WIS students and parents that it seems a little strange to only have one week to officially celebrate them. Thank you school counselors!
For those of us that have been a part of our school system for any period of time, you already know what I am about to say........ we have phenomenal teachers in Willard! I do not say this because of any one person or event. This is based on 11 years of personal experience as a teacher, coach, administrator, and parent in the district.
